So what's this all about?

The purpose of this site is to get rid of stuff. There are three ways to do that:

1. Give it away
2. Sell it
3. If nobody wants it and it won't sell, trash it

We are trying to downsize, which means getting rid of thousands of pounds of stuff. This site facilitates the first two options. Basically, family and friends sign up on the form below. Then, every week as we enter books and stuff into the online database, an email goes out to anyone who has registered. The email directs you to this page, with a key that loads the current week's stuff. If you want any of it, check the box beside the item, and when you have checked all items you want, click the button.

Essentially what you are doing is reserving stuff so we won't sell it; instead, we will give it to you. It's that easy.

Of course there is a chance someone else on the mailing list may want an item, and snap it up before you do. You've gotta stay sharp! (And when you reserve items, your name appears beside the items you've reserved, so if someone else wants it really badly, they can duke it out with you.)

Any items no one has claimed in a week will go up for sale online.

Now, you may be asking yourself, “How do I get signed up with this?” The answer is, “We invite you.” As you can imagine, putting information about potentially valuable household goods online is an open invitation to burglers, which they surely don't need.
